Plot Twist! Tough Times Just Chapter of Your Life Not Whole Story »

Inspiring News Talk Radio - Looking at tough times as a plot twist and not your whole story. Bob Garner shares why you need to turn the page and move on.

I love biographies. I have read, literally, hundreds of them. And what’s always fascinating to me is that as you read a person’s life story, you find chapters that not only cover the good things that occurred, but also chapters about the tough times – the challenges met and the frustrations that accompanied them. Sometimes those challenges appear to be overwhelming. You think to yourself, “How will they deal with this?” And as you keep reading, you discover that somehow, they do get through their tough time. Then you turn the page and read the NEXT chapter of their life….

Making a Choice – How to Not Get Kicked By a Horse »

Making a Choice: you can't always choose the situations/people in your life, but you can always choose how you respond. News Talk radio Bob Garner storyteller on old master and the horse.

The road you travel is always a choice. At one end of a small town, there was a horse that when anyone tried to pass it – to leave or enter town – the horse would chase them and kick them. To Have the Life You Want You Have to Give Up the Life You Have »

Dream of having a different life or achieving a goal, yet refuse to make the changes needed to have that life or goal? Funny keynote speaker Garner shares.

Do you dream of having a different life, yet refuse to make the changes needed to have that life? Do you have a goal that you want to reach but are unwilling to give up on your old way of doing things. After all, to achieve a goal requires that you DO some things you don’t ALREADY do. Sometimes the change you need…

A Rug of Mistakes – Making Something Beautiful From a Mistake »

beautiful learn from mistakes

Have you ever seen those beautiful (and extremely expensive) handmade rugs? Do you know that a few of those rugs sometimes contain mistakes? You see, many of those rugs come from little villages in various parts of the world and each rug is hand made by a team of weavers under the direction of a master weaver. When they weave the rug, they weave it from the underside. Not from the top, but, actually, underneath it. And sometimes, a weaver will accidentally weave in a color that doesn’t match the overall look or pattern of the rug. When that happens,…
